Recently I
see a lot of ladies in great shoes but wrong occasions. Ok wait before you
start asking me what I mean by wrong occasions. Consider a lady who has a lot
of moving around to do but still chooses to wear a six inch stiletto. Now stilettos
are fabulous chic shoes that give any lady who is well put together some level
of ‘grace’ but certainly not for endurance trekking.
Ok maybe you
didn’t get that picture very well, here is another scenario. A 5ft 7 tall lady
in a three quarter non fitted dress (wait that is not bad) now finishes the
look with a flat ballet pair of shoes. Believe me except that lady is pregnant
that is a flabby way of approaching the world that day.
No matter
how great an outfit looks, if the shoes are wrong then the overall image is
compromised.
So here
comes our question, how do you choose an appropriate pair of shoes that work
with your personality, wardrobe and comfort per time?
I did a
little digging around and I came up with these few suggestions
Once you
have concluded on the appropriate outfit for the day, try and have a mental
scan of how the day might go. If you are mobile, imagine if you don’t have a
space to park your car around where you are going and then you have to walk a
couple of yards after parking, will your choice of shoes still be appropriate?
Or if you are taking a taxi what if there is a cause for you to come down and
walk to where you are going?
Ask yourself
a sincere question about your appearance per day. What is the name that
captures your total appearance-casual, smart, graceful, sophisticated, or
classy? That helps your choice.
Shoes with
blings are wonderful but play it cool when the occasion is subtle and
especially when you have enough blings on your neck or dress already (otherwise
we might need to put off the light when you make your entrance)
Please
remember that a particular pair of shoes is expensive does not make it
‘all-occasions’ appropriate. The value and comfort are two main important
factors any lady must consider above the price of her shoes.
When you buy
a new pair of shoes, please try and wear it at home, walk around in them and
feel the shoes. That way, you can eliminate any surprises and of course your
shoes too get to lose the new shoe stiffness and adjust to the shape of your
feet.
Are your
shoes well balanced? Or do you feel like you are standing on a spring in them?
Sis please change it or if you have not bought them then don’t! Ankle sprain
isn’t far from that scene so also is joint pain.
Above all
please ladies make sure your shoes fit. Of course I know some ladies are
already saying ‘I wear my size’ well who doesn’t? But I have seen ladies
because they love the design or the brand chooses to squeeze their feet in and
in some cases pick a size bigger than their feet.
Please don’t forget I mentioned they are just
suggestions.
Enjoy your
gorgeous feet!
